The Content Reading Initiative at Brookline High School
The CRI Mission Statement
The Content‐Area Reading Initiative (CRI) is committed to enhancing the disciplinary literacy skills of all students at Brookline High School. To accomplish this, CRI teams meet weekly to reflect on past practice, experiment with new approaches to teaching literacy, and share that learning with our colleagues to encourage more explicit and effective literacy instruction school-wide. A Note About Navigating This Website: This website is designed to give a snapshot of the wide array of projects undertaken by the CRI teams over their first two years together (2012-2014) as well as some of the resources on which teachers base their practice. Teams have conducted multiple inquiry cycles and completed research projects around topics related to essential literacy skills (vocabulary, comprehension, discussion, etc.). We will include an ever-growing, representative sample of work here as an illustration. |
